How This Flow Rate Calculator Works

Method 1: Pipe Size & Velocity
Flow rate is calculated by multiplying the cross-sectional area of the pipe by the velocity of the fluid (Q = A x v). The pipe area is derived from the pipe diameter. Best when you know the pipe diameter and flow speed.
Method 2: Volume Over Time
Flow rate is calculated by dividing the total volume by the time it takes to fill a container (Q = V / t). Best when you can measure a real-world fill time.
